NKMAX’s cDNAs are provided in a shuttle puc19-derived cloning vector. Our ready-to-use human cDNA samples can be immediately plugged into PCR experiments. NKMAX has used some of them for recombinant DNA to be used in producing recombinant proteins expressed in E.Coli and baculovirus.

What are cDNAs?

cDNA (complementary DNA) is known to be synthesized, or manufactured from an mRNA or messenger RNA template. It is synthesized in a reaction that is catalyzed by the reverse transcriptase and DNA polymerase enzymes.

cDNAs can be used to clone eukaryotic genes in prokaryotes. They are used to express a specific protein in a cell that does not normally express that protein (i.e., heterologous expression) by transferring the cDNA that codes for the protein to the recipient cell.

cDNA is also produced naturally by retroviruses such as HIV and then integrated into the host's genome, where it creates a provirus.
